Here’s a quick hit for you. ReasonTV’s Nanny of the Month… banning lunches from home.

And we can look forward to more of the same with the “Let’s Move (Out of my life, please)” program.
Assuming that someone is okay with the government providing services, if they were really dead set on curing a problem that might not even exist, why can’t they just provide opportunities? If they really think new playgrounds are a good use of taxpayer money, why not just give it to HUD so they can build it? It already exists and it’s their JOB to do that sort of thing.
Anyway, the government will never stop at providing opportunities. They’ll go out of their way to make sure you “take advantage” of them, by golly!
It won’t stop at public schools, either. The last time I checked, private schools weren’t sovereign nations and they’ll be forced to abide by these guidelines too.
I wonder if they’ll prohibit home-schooled kids from bringing their own lunches to conventions.:)
